Celliers has designed kayaks for 30+ years and built more than 40,000.
He's a mechanical engineer and expedition paddler who has designed more than 70 paddling craft. Every Lekker hull, deck, and hardware decision comes from him personally, and every model gets tested on multiday expeditions before it ships.

- Are Lekker kayaks in stock in the US?
- Yes. Every model marked in stock is in our US warehouse now and ships nationwide: delivery is $200 to California, Oregon and Washington, $300 elsewhere west of the Mississippi, $400 east of it. It's the end of the season, so every in-stock kayak carries end-of-season pricing: Up to 15% off every in-stock kayak.
- Which Lekker kayak is right for a beginner?
- The Malachite (sit-on-top, $1,290 (list $1,490)) or the Osprey (sit-in touring, $1,490 (list $1,690)). Both are tuned for stability first, so you spend the day paddling rather than balancing.
