How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is included on the West Coast. It is $100 to the Central states and $200 to the East Coast. The Piper kids' kayak ships to the West Coast only on its own; elsewhere, add it to an adult-boat order.

The Malachite, a 14-foot sit-on-top at $1,490, or the Osprey, a 14-foot sit-in touring kayak at $1,690. Both are tuned for stability first, with sealed hatches for overnight trips when you are ready.

Yes, the Albatross: a 14-foot tandem sit-on-top at $1,390 with 573 lb capacity, three sealed hatches and a rudder option. It can be paddled solo from the rear seat.

Sit-on-tops (Piper, Malachite, Petrel, Albatross) are self-draining, easy to get back onto after a swim and suit warm water, fishing and families. Sit-ins (Osprey, Skimmer, Peregrine) keep you drier and warmer and track better over distance. If you cannot decide, the Osprey is the one-kayak answer.
Do I need a rudder?
Most paddlers do not. Lekker hulls steer on edge, and the touring models carry a standard drop-down skeg. A rudder is optional on most boats and standard on the Gull surfski; it earns its place in strong wind or big swell.

What are Lekker kayaks made of?
Rotomolded polyethylene: a single-piece hull that takes rocks, rental abuse and years of sun. Touring models add closed-cell foam bulkheads so the sealed compartments stay sealed.

Product of the Year in recreational paddling at the 2026 Paddlesports Show in Strasbourg, France, Europe's largest paddlesports trade show. It was judged against every kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard entered in the category.

Who designs Lekker kayaks?
Celliers Kruger, a South African mechanical engineer and expedition paddler who has designed more than 70 paddling craft over 30 years and built over 40,000 kayaks. He founded Fluid Kayaks and Vagabond Kayaks before starting Lekker in 2024.
